World Green Design Organization (WGDO) was founded in Brussels, Belgium, in September 2013. It is the first non-profit international organization to promote the development of green design throughout the world.
Aimed at advocating and broadcasting the concept of “Green Design” on a global scale, WGDO strives to lead the transformation in production methods, lifestyles and consumption patterns through “green designs”, and realize the symbiosis between man and nature. WGDO promotes the communication and cooperation of information, technology, materials, projects, capital and talents by running various forms of activities, such as the World Green Design Forum in China, the European forum, the World Green Design Expo, the election of World Green Design Product Award/World Green Design Contribution Award, and the release of “World Green Design Report” etc.
WGDO consists of the executive committee, the council, and the general assembly, and its members are spread out across nearly thirty countries. Currently, the organization has offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Yangzhou, Hong Kong, Brussels, London, Paris, Stockholm, Berlin and Frankfurt. It has established 17 professional committees and 7 special committees. WGDO has commended hundreds of leading enterprises and leading figures such as Siemens, Haier, P&G and Vanke etc. over 6 consecutive years through forums, exhibitions, commendations and awards, hence successfully translating green designs into results. WGDO has also established strategic cooperation agreements with the European Commission, European Parliament, United Nations Environment Program, World Intellectual Property Organization, International Organization for Standardization and other international organizations.
